A two-term Endau incumbent, Alwiyah Talib won the seat on a UMNO ticket in 2018 and retained it on a Bersatu/PN ticket in 2022 with a 3,041 majority; the former Bersatu Mersing division chief rejoined UMNO in June 2026 as the BN candidate, and is president of the Malaysian Netball Association (PBJM) and the Johor Netball Association (PBJNJ).

An ustaz and former religious-school teacher who studied at Al-Azhar University, Hasnul Hakimi Hussein is a Perikatan Nasional (PAS) candidate and serves as PAS Mersing's information chief and deputy youth chief.

An Orang Asli local from Endau, aged 52, Jati Awang is Parti Orang Asli Malaysia's (ASLI) candidate in the party's first electoral contest, campaigning for Orang Asli representation and long-standing community issues.
