State assemblyman for N49 Kota Iskandar since 2022, Pandak Ahmad of BN won the seat, Johor's largest electorate, by defeating Amanah's Dzulkefly Ahmad, and was previously Malaysia's youngest village head, appointed at age 26.

Background

  • A Malay politician and member of UMNO under the Barisan Nasional coalition; the youngest village head (ketua kampung) in Malaysian history, appointed at age 26.[1][2]
  • State assemblyman for N49 Kota Iskandar since 2022, after winning the seat with 23,133 votes (40.79%) and a 4,360 majority over Amanah's Dzulkefly Ahmad in Johor's largest electorate (about 132,000 voters).[1][3]
  • Awarded the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), carrying the Datuk title, in 2022, and a recipient of the Pingat Ibrahim Sultan (P.I.S) and Pingat Pangkuan Negara (P.P.N).[1][2]
  • Deputy chief of the UMNO Iskandar Puteri division and Executive Secretary of UMNO Johor; former UMNO Youth chief for the Gelang Patah division (2000-2004).[1][2]
  • Founder of Sg Melayu Eco Tourism and president of the Malaysia Handball Federation (MAHF).[2]
  • As assemblyman, has pressed for fixes to severe traffic congestion around Kota Iskandar — urging JKR and Iskandar Puteri City Council to add lanes and deliver promised flyover and bypass works — and backed Nusa Bayu residents in demanding prior consultation on a data centre.[4][5]
  • Argues developers should consult residents before siting projects near homes and that apartment projects must provide public facilities such as schools, mosques and clinics, while criticising foreign ownership and short-term rentals in service apartments.[5][4]
