Licensed surveyor and former Amanah Johor deputy chairman (2015 to 2023), Dzulkefly Ahmad won Kota Iskandar in 2018 and served on the Johor State Executive Council with housing then communications portfolios; he is not the federal Health Minister who shares his name.

Background

  • Born on 1 August 1965 in Johor; a licensed surveyor with a property management degree from UTM and an MSc in Property Investment from City University, London.[1][2][3][4]
  • A former lecturer at UTM Skudai and member of surveying professional bodies (RISM, MIEA, PEPS and IACVS); married with seven children.[4]
  • Deputy chairman of Amanah Johor, 2015 to 2023.[1]
  • Won Kota Iskandar in 2018 with 58.4% of the vote (33,455) and a majority of 14,543, and represented the seat from 2018 to 2022.[5][1]
  • Appointed to the Johor State Executive Council in 2018, holding the housing and rural development portfolio (2018-2019) and later communications and multimedia (2019-2020).[1][2]
  • Former Deputy Chairman of the Johor State Planning Committee (SPC) and KPRJ, and former chairman of the KPRJ Investment Committee, Digital Johor Sdn Bhd and MSC Cyberport Sdn Bhd.[4]
  • A former member of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM); Amanah's Iskandar Puteri area chief and Pakatan Harapan Iskandar Puteri chairman; an adviser to the Persatuan Wanita Prihatinan (PERWANIN) and the Kota Iskandar welfare body.[6]
  • Not the same person as Dzulkefly Ahmad the federal Health Minister (the Kuala Selangor MP), who is a different individual.[1][7]
