PH

An electrical engineering diploma holder from UiTM and a Parit Yaani local, Md Ezam Md Taslim served as special officer to the seat's assemblyman from 2015 to 2022 and has since served the Sri Gading MP; he stands for Amanah (PH).

Background

  • Born 7 June 1982 in Johor; ethnic Malay.[1]
  • A businessman in investment and property, and a member of UMNO under the Barisan Nasional coalition.[1][2]
  • Deputy Chief of the UMNO Sri Gading Division and treasurer of Barisan Nasional Youth, Johor.[3][2]
  • Parit Yaani assemblyman since 12 March 2022, having won the seat in 2022 with a 294-vote majority (9,070 votes), defeating PH Johor chairman Aminolhuda Hassan.[4][5][1]
  • Awarded the National Youth Award (2011) and the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (D.P.S.M.) in 2019.[2][1]
  • As assemblyman, delivered local infrastructure across Parit Yaani — road and junction upgrades (Tongkang Pechah, Jalan Bindu), new schools, a mosque, public field, hall and market, and LED town lighting.[6]
  • Champions multiracial unity through events "regardless of ethnicity, religion or affiliation", such as the Simfoni Kongsi Raya gathering that drew over 3,000 in 2026, and runs welfare and cost-of-living programmes (e.g. Jualan Kasih Johor) alongside the "Najib Samuri (NS)" app launched in 2025 to handle residents' feedback.[7][8][9]
  • A 49-year-old local candidate holding a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from UiTM.[1]
  • A new face; Parit Yaani was previously won by Amanah's Aminolhuda Hassan in 2013 and 2018.[2]
  • Special officer to the Parit Yaani assemblyman (2015-2022) and to the Sri Gading MP since 2022.[1]
  • Pledges to strengthen economic and infrastructure development for Parit Yaani, campaigning on the motto "Rahmah untuk semua" (Compassion for all).[1]
