A religious teacher and former senior lecturer at the Tun Hussein Onn teachers' college, Mohamad Anuar Hayan holds a Qiraat specialisation from Al-Azhar, is deputy president of PAS Muar since 2025, and replaces incumbent Abdul Aziz Talib.

- Holds a Qiraat specialisation degree from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, plus a Diploma of Education and a Master of Education (Curriculum & Instruction) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia; an alumnus of Maahad Tahfiz Johor and SMA Ad-Diniah.[2]
- A former teacher at SMKA Maahad Muar and a senior lecturer at the Tun Hussein Onn teachers' college; also an adjunct lecturer at Open University Malaysia and Asia e University, and a haj and umrah guide.[2]
- Actively gives religious lectures at mosques and prayer halls; a judge for Quran recitation and memorisation competitions at district, state and national level; recipient of the IPTHO Excellent Lecturer Award (2011) and former head of its Academic Excellence Department (2018).[2]
- A PAS Muar area committee member (2017-2025), now deputy president of the PAS Muar area (since 2025) and the Muar parliamentary coordinator (since 2026).[2]
