- In February 2024, a video in which he belittled Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg while questioning the appointment of Tiong King Sing as tourism minister went viral, drawing 45 police reports from Sarawak. Police recorded his statement and investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. On 1 March 2024 he apologised to the Sarawak Premier for his excessive wording, while maintaining that the video had been edited.[4][5][6]
