Johor executive councillor for housing and local government since March 2022 and UMNO Kulai division chief, Datuk Jafni Mohd Shukor won the Bukit Permai seat in 2022 with 10,889 votes and a majority of 4,755.

Businesswoman and director of Arun Boutique Sdn Bhd, also known as "Arun" and a performing singer, Lina Manoh Manogaran is one of MIPP's five candidates standing under Perikatan Nasional in the party's electoral debut at the 2026 Johor state election.
