An agro-entrepreneur and FELCRA board member, Md Ysahrudin Kusni held Bukit Naning for PH from 2018 to 2022, winning the seat by a majority of 1,552 votes, and has served as Johor PKR deputy chairman since May 2024.

- Bukit Naning assemblyman 2018-2022, winning the seat in 2018 with 47.49% of the vote (a 1,552 majority).[1]
- Lost his bid to hold Bukit Naning in 2022 with 22.80% of the vote to UMNO's Mohd Fuad Tukirin.[1]
- At nomination for the 16th state election, pledged to return his assemblyman's salary to residents over the full term through a subsidy-card scheme: RM30 to 300 eligible households to spend at panel supermarkets (RM9,000 in total), an offer he had not made when he won in 2018.[3]
- Says his income comes from the land he farms; among the other priorities he stresses is resolving residents' infrastructure issues.[3]
